Comrades and friends, We are here to celebrate and mark the 105 years of the life of our Party, the PCP, a creation of the Portuguese workers, always connected to the masses and to life.   105 years of life and determined and confident struggle, rooted in the past, updating itself in the present and projected into the future.   A Party with a long history of intervention and struggle, with a vast and unparalleled history that blends with that of this People and this Country.

International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, was established in 1910 to strengthen women's organised struggle against exploitation, inequality and injustice, for the achievement of their economic, social, political and cultural rights in all areas of life, for equality between women and men, against war and for Peace.

The PCP salutes all those who exercised their right to vote today, giving expression to a significant turnout in the elections, and extends a word of solidarity to all those who did so in particularly difficult conditions due to the consequences of the storms. A significant turnout that defeated André Ventura in the second round of the elections for President of the Republic, reflecting the Portuguese people's rejection of his candidacy and the reactionary and retrograde project he represents.
