About the evolution of COVID-19 and the measures announced by the Government

1. Given the evolution of the COVID-19 outbreak, PCP considers the implementation of a set of preventive measures to be of the utmost importance, bur reaffirms the rejection of alarmism that cause a climate of agitation and disproportionate fear.
The current situation in Portugal demands that we all follow the set of guidelines issued by the public health authority, without fueling speculative reports or adopting measures on the sidelines of those defined by the competent authorities.

75 years — Liberation of Auschwitz by the Soviet Army

The Central Committee of the PCP, meeting on November 23 and 24, 2019, analysed the international situation, the national situation and its evolution, the development of the workers’ and peoples' struggle. It assessed the Party's political action and initiative, took measures with a view to strengthening them, and decided to convene the 21st PCP Congress on November 27, 28 and 29, 2020.

The election results were translated in a parliamentary framework with a correlation of forces similar to the previous four-year period, despite changes in electoral expression between the political forces represented in Parliament.
The present institutional correlation of forces does correspond, however, to a distinct political context from that of 2015.
