Jerónimo de Sousa sent a message to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution wherein he values his «life as a revolutionary and communist entirely dedicated to the struggle for freedom, sovereignty and social progress of his people and the liberating cause of workers and peoples throughout the world», and sends, «as an expression of great appreciation and admiration, the salutations of the Portuguese communists, along with the wish that he continue to give his valuable contribution towards the cause of peace, friendship and solidarity with the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean and worldwide».

As the NATO Summit begins today in Warsaw, Poland, PCP alerts to the serious aims of increasing warmongering action by this aggressive political-military bloc led by the US.

The Central Committee of the PCP, meeting on June 25 and 26, 2016, analysed the country’s political and social situation and the recent developments in Europe and in the world. The Central Committee of the PCP, highlighting the intense and diverse political intervention of the PCP stresses the positive results achieved in the context of the new phase of national political life and calls for the development, broadening and intensification of the mass struggle.

Present at the rally that gathered 80,000 people in defence of Public School, Jerónimo de Sousa underlined that "this rally corresponds to the majority feeling of Portuguese society that wants to see established and implemented the Constitutional order of defence of education for all, a quality public school".
