Concerning the Agreement on the Withdrawal of the UK from the EU

1. The approval by the European Council of the Agreement on the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU) and the Political Declaration about the future EU-UK relations do not mean the end of this process, as the British Parliament and the European Parliament have yet to pronounce themselves. 2. While the conclusion of this process is still uncertain, PCP reaffirms four central premises of its analysis and position:

Portugal needs an alternative policy capable of building a Portugal with a future

Comrades The proceedings of our Conference "Patriotic and left-wing alternative, for a Portugal with a future" are coming to a close. Here, the situation of the country and the great national problems in the most various fields have been analysed and solutions have been presented and put forward to respond to them.

"Another Europe of workers and peoples must be born and make a break with the current process of capitalist integration"

At the closing of this seminar, jointly organised by PCP’s Delegation in the European Parliament and by the GUE/NGL, I would like to begin by greeting all participants and in particular the speakers at this seminar, valorising and thanking their important contributions. Thanks that, on behalf of the PCP, we would like to extend especially to our foreign guests, representatives of communist, progressive and left parties from Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Spain and France.

"On the European Parliament’s decision on Hungary"

The PCP strongly denounces and condemns the attacks on democracy, social rights, fundamental freedoms and guarantees of the citizens in Hungary. But the PCP also rejects the fact that, under the pretext of this situation - which, moreover, portrays the policies of the EU itself - the European Union tries to pave the way to increase its threats, blackmail, impositions and sanctions against the States and their peoples.

Closing Rally of the «Avante!» Festival 2018

Warmest greetings to all of you, to all the builders, participants and visitors of the 42nd edition of the Avante! Festival, who once again confirmed its nature and characteristics, in its solidarity dimension, of peace and fraternity, but also a Festival of April, of this April Revolution whose 45th anniversary we celebrate in 2019, with the dignity that is required of this Party that fought for April and this Festival which is of April, and will know how to project, its values and its transforming project that our Party programme enshrines for the construction of a Portugal with a future.

Rally of the Avante! Festival 2018

"In these uncertain, dangerous times, with the risk of setbacks, with possibilities of advances, the PCP assumes its long-standing struggle, with the workers and the people, resisting, fighting for every right, for every advance. With every action, every initiative, every struggle being part of the millennial process of social emancipation.

Opening Act of the 42nd. Avante! Festival

We have opened the doors of the forty-second edition of the Avante! Festival. We do it with great joy at seeing the result of a collective work erected inch by inch with the readiness and militant determination, with the willingness and passion of many friends of the Party, many friends of the Avante! Festival - who build, organise and enjoy it, and take it as their own, driven by the values of April, of solidarity, of peace, of social justice, of the struggle for a better life, for a free and sovereign country.
