Joint statement of 69 communist and workers’ parties on the anticommunist resolution of OSCE

We strongly condemn the adoption on 3 July, 2009 at the regular Parliamentary Assembly session of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vilnius (Lithuania) of a new anti-communist resolution titled «Divided Europe Reunited» which contains a gross distortion of history and denies the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism.

About the electoral results for the European Parliament

Our first comment is of satisfaction. Satisfaction for the important electoral progress of CDU. A progress that is an important sign of demand for change and of confidence in the possibility of building a better life. Our second comment is of concern with the situation of the country and of the Portuguese people but also of confidence that another policy, another path is possible.
