The PCP Program, the socialist project for Portugal

The supreme objectives of our Party, the party of the working class and all workers, are socialism and communism, are the building up in Portugal of a classless society, authentically free, from which exploitation is abolished and inequalities and social injustices forever banned, as well as social injustices and all kinds of perversions inherent in the capitalist system. This project, which is the main reason of the PCP’s existence, is always present in the horizon of the revolutionary action of the Portuguese communists.
On the changes to the Theses/Draft Political Resolution

The Report of the Drafting Committee that will be distributed contains information on the changes introduced in the Theses/Draft Political Resolution.
The Draft Resolution that is submitted to the Congress today is the result of an intense process of collective debate that, from the first phase - with the discussion of the topics and themes that would shape the theses project – till the discussion in this third phase, called on the Party collective to contribute to its construction.
A debate held and filled by the free contribution of Party members.

PCP's Central Committee, meeting on October 31, 2016, analysed the political situation and the development of the mass struggle, and examined aspects of the Party’s activity, strengthening and political initiative and also of the preparation of the XX Congress.
20th Congress of the PCP

The Central Committee of PCP met on 4 and 5 March and decided that Almada's municipal sports centre (Complexo Municipal dos Desportos – Cidade de Almada) will be the venue for the XXth Congress on 2, 3 and 4 December 2016.
National Action "Employment rights, production and sovereignty - Patriotic and Left-wing Alternative”
30 September 2016
PCP launched on the past 29th, a National Action directed to the workers and people. This action will be accompanied by a poster and a national leaflet, and will carry out a set of initiatives among which a cycle of thematic debates addressing the issues of Social Security, Fiscal Justice, support for children and families, Precariousness, public investment and national production , and Housing.
