In view of the announced “resuming of the direct negotiations” between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, to the circumstances that assist their beginning and the framework within which they will take place, its imperative to dismantle whatever is to become Israel's and the USA's responsibilities’' whitening operation, on the Palestinian people's living drama.
Under the Obama administration's “invitation”, a number of meetings and encounters which the outlined objective is the resuming of the negotiation process and the conclusion of an agreement in a year's time, will take place in Washington, on the 1st and 2nd September. Israel rejoiced with the fact the negotiations will begin without the establishment of any previous conditions, which signifies indeed, the imposing of its crimes' coverage and impunity against the Palestinian people together with the disrespect for international law. Besides as soon the Palestine Authority's answer was known, Israel immediately begun enunciating conditions that aim to render possible and “establish” the occupation and the illegality continuity.
The negotiations, “mediated” by the USA, have been dragging on, at least, since 1993, when the Oslo Agreements were signed, distressing, on their own, for the Palestinians. Since then, multiple initiatives and proposals have taken place, more and more deviated from the established by international law, presented by the North-American consecutive administrations. Along this process, Israel has disrespected all the assumed compromises and has attempted to impose – accomplished fact upon fact, illegality upon illegality, crime upon crime - harder and unacceptable concessions and compromises towards the Palestinian people, to which it has responded with its heroic and firm resistance. Alias, it can simply be a pure hypocrisy and deceiving exercise regarding the USA - currently run by the Obama administration - , to set upright or attempt to be a conflict “mediator” of which it is an accomplice and responsible.
It has been during the Obama administration that the North-American military assistance to Israel has risen unto a “non-precedent” level, therefore being the main aid beneficiary of the USA's “Military External Financing Programme”, receiving per year more than half of the 5 million dollars' fund, currently addressed to 70 countries. In 2010, the Obama administration will provide the greatest military assistance ever, undergone by the USA to Israel, of about 2,775 thousand million dollars.
The Obama administration has already presented, for 2011, about 3 thousand million dollars of military support to Israel (to which must be added, for example, another 205 million dollars for missile system development and installation), accomplishing a supply agreement of around 30 thousand million dollars in military assistance, during 10 years. The means which, in reality, allow Israel to threat blackmail and oppress, throughout the Middle East and to be a “vital ally” and a USA's strategic interference and rule pillar, within this region.
Equally conducted by the Obama administration, the greatest military conjoint manoeuvres between the USA and Israel, which have taken place in 2010, and, once more, prevented Israel's condemnation for its aggression towards the humanitarian aid flotilla, carrying help for the Gaza Strip blockaded Palestinian people. Therefore, the moment has come to reaffirm the solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle and a just and lasting solution, for the Middle East conflict, which will have to undergo the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to a sovereign, viable and independent State, within the occupied territories, in 1967, with its capital in Jerusalem, and the respect for the United Nations' resolutions.
