The situation in Libya, along with the actions that aim to render possible the imperialism military aggression in this country, have had fast and contradictory developments, in the last days.
The military preparations, the political and economic measures and sanctions and the orchestrated and huge disinformation campaign, are set. To finish up the scenario, the United Nations Security Council’s decision is missing, and which will support and whiten the military aggression, euphemistically called as the “exclusion zone”.
Given the questions raised by some countries, on who shall play the main role and how shall the aggression be implemented - the so-called “air exclusion space” -, the French ambassador responds that does not understand them, stating that the Security Council “is not a General-Headquarters” and “this Council ought to give political authorization and only then, the countries should work together to enforce it”. In other words, the USA and its allies want more then a “blank-check”, as the United Nations’ would provide the first step in a escalating war escalade which, sooner or later, would follow.
Imperialism seeks to act in multiple directions, including the UN manipulation itself ( one might register the Secretary - General Ban Ki-Moon’s “rendering” services ), in order to carry ahead his intents within this strategic region, whilst he brandishes the “request” of the majority of the Arab League countries ( with Syria’s and Algeria’s opposition) to impose the so-called “air exclusion space”, silences the latter’s rejection undergone, by the African Union and actively shuns Libya’s conflict mediation and pacifist solution attempts.
One must highlight that among those which mostly demand the aggression escalade against Libya are oppressor regimes, USA’s allies within the region, such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which did not hesitate to send troops in order to support the repression against Bahrain’s popular uprising (where the US Fifth Fleet is based).
The following days will determine the outcome of the first act in the ongoing attempt of imperialist domination of Libya (of the whole territory or imposing its dismantlement) and of its huge natural resources (such as oil and gas). Meanwhile, the authentic assault to Libya’s sovereign fund of thousand of millions is underway, and the USA, always in the frontline on what regards peoples ’plunder, have already announced Libya’s 30 thousand million dollar “freeze”.
The USA and the major European Union capitalist powers, promoting contradictions and divisions within the Arab world and trying to use, at their profit, popular legitimate aspirations, seek ,with the support of accomplice and servile regimes, to dictate the orders, if necessary by embrasure, just as when, with the so-called “divide and rule” the African continent’s colonial division was defined, at the Berlin Conference, concluded in 1885.
In Libya - as in Palestine, Lebanon, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and in so many other examples can witness -, imperialism cynically waves with humanist concerns and the so-called “ humanitarian intervention”, only to, sow death and destruction, ensuring peoples’ and their resources exploitation.
Therefore, the peace and anti-imperialist forces must reject and denounce any imperialist aggression against this country - which, in the first place, would represent an act against all those who, in Libya and within the Arab world are fighting for their rights, democracy, sovereignty and peace - and strive for a peaceful and political resolution of the conflict, far from any external interferences.
