“The huge lie”

Translated “Avante!” article by Albano Nunes, Member of the International Department

“ War against terrorism” is of the greatest importance for imperialism’s agenda, and that was the great and only issue concerning the public agreement, during its most recent secret meetings, along with Manchester attempt, called upon, in order to justify more security and militarist measures ( as Kabul’s attempt, in order to then justify the USA military reinforcement in Afghanistan, a few days later), confirming to whom these criminal actions serve. Terrorism has always given weapons unto reactionary forces even not being promoted or organized, as frequently proved, by the very same reactionary forces and the intelligence at its service.

The real question goes much beyond, in knowing which hand is backing attempts, such as Manchester, alias, much is yet to be clarified. One must not forget that the worst of all terrorism, is state terrorism, and if there are states implicated to the neck, following the ideology and the practice of terrorism, is no doubt Saudi Arabia and Israel. And these are the places the USA president begun his first tour abroad and it was here loud statements were produced on “war against terrorism”, symptomatically accompanied by colossal weapon business and the threat in intensifying the interference and aggression operations against Iran, Syria, Yemen and all that ought to shadow the North-American imperialism hegemony, in the region. Trump arrived in Brussels to attend the NATO meeting and to Sicily for the G7 summit, with these deeds in his luggage. Deeds that had the blessing of the USA allies, the latter being particularly engaged in the “war against terrorism”, the only issue that ended up being in the explicit agreement.

In fact, the inter-imperialist divergences and contradictions revealed to be of an unusual clarification, becoming more harsh in ulterior statements, namely concerning Germany. Statements that hold the mark of an electoral campaign, in progress, but express, above all, the own ambitions of the European Union hegemonic power, and within the framework of a declared crisis of capitalist integration, that the dominant class seeks to transform in an “opportunity” for the federalist leap it desires, currently under the slogan set out by Merkel “Europe ought to hold its destiny in its hands”.

The inter-imperialist contradictions are really serious and are sharpening with the system’s structural crisis and the struggle, inherent to capitalism’s own nature, in order to catch the greatest part possible of the added-value, produced by workers, throughout the world.
And that is how the run to armament and the anti-democratic securitarian direction, justified by “war against terrorism” appear as the main elements in class articulation, in the struggle of imperialism against its main enemy, workers and peoples of the whole world, that, choosing the most different directions, struggle to become free from capitalist exploitation and oppression, in order to build their own future.
